How To Use Article Marketing To Benefit Your Business

If you love to write, then you're one step further to using article marketing to benefit you and your business. Pick a topic you need to learn more about or one that you are interested in. Do the required research, and make it into a resourceful article. Write articles that relate to your business. Also, concentrate on topics that you know people will be searching for. Use specific keywords in your articles so the search engines will find them...thus, resulting in finding your business.

The following steps will guide you through the article marketing process...

1. Find ideas for your articles. This can be accomplished in a number of ways.

* Participate in business message forums
* Participate in chat rooms
* Join discussion groups
* Blog
* Subscribe to ezines

Ask questions, read, and learn. The result will lead you to some innovative article ideas.

You can also get ideas from actually reading other articles. You should never copy content from another person's article...but rather, come up with an unusual twist or angle and make it your own.

2. When you have a topic for an article, give it a title and start writing it. If you are not an expert on the subject, you will need to do some research. Keep in mind WHY you are writing the article. You should be writing articles that are geared toward getting traffic to your website or business. Make them interesting and resourceful...making the reader WANT to visit your site.

3. Once you have written your article and have checked it for errors, you will need to start submitting it to various message forums and article directories. Try to choose directories with a high page rank. The ones with higher page ranks will have more importance with the search engines.

4. Always include your resource box at the end of your written article. This will include for example: your name and a link to your website or business. When people read your article you will have your link right there for them to click on and visit. Website owners are always searching for content for their websites. They often search in article directories. When they download your article, they also download your resource box. The more articles you write and submit to directories...the more links you will have directing people to your business.

Articles are one of the most effective marketing tools on the Internet today. Use it and benefit from it. Don't be afraid of it. Write about what you know, and keep writing, and success will follow.

How to Build Your Own Internet Marketing Company

The world of the Internet seems to be expanding by leaps and bounds lately - so much so that you might be thinking about putting up your own Internet Marketing Company so you can compete in this field. But before you start shelling out your hard-earned money to put up that Internet Marketing Firm you have been dreaming about, it helps to find out what the ground rules are first. First, you really cannot get around the fact that you need pretty extensive awareness, knowledge, and maybe experience in the Information Technology aspect side for your Internet Marketing Firm. Why? Simply because IT will dictate the capabilities of your Online Marketing Company to a significant extent. If you yourself are not an IT person but is passionate about building a powerful Internet Marketing Company, then perhaps it's time for you to scout around for some top brains in IT to hire as consultants and staff for your Online Marketing Company.

The Real Business of an Online Marketing Company In the world of advertisement, conventional advertising and promotion approaches are no longer the typical newspaper and TV or radio formats. Promotions of goods and services are now more appealing online especially that now that many have access to the web 24/7. Understanding the benefits and challenges of establishing an influential Internet Marketing Firm will help you prosper in this online business. So what do you have to do primarily?

1. Hire a Smart IT firm Artistic and business focused IT professionals can be your best assets during the establishment of your Internet Marketing Company. The reason is in this age of advanced and well-designed websites, your Online Marketing Firm needs to be aggressive in terms of advertising and promotion. Understand that competition is getting tougher, Internet marketing companies and firm need to be more than just the typical ads and design promotion.

Yourself you will have to choose the best Internet Marketing firm or provider, then create a professional assessment. Get yourself involved during the creation of the firm. Therefore, when dealing with your Online Marketing Company provider, consider just a user-friendly layout and navigation. Plus, you'll get an attractive layout with the appropriate use of colors. You should use those schemes intelligently and instinctively; and be able to manipulate content like images and video so that the end product looks good enough to please the client and bring in visitors in droves.

2. Identify a reliable content writer You have to have people who know how to write content in your Online Marketing Company. That means getting people who are skilled in language skills, who know how to work with the language and how to pick topics so that they can create unique and original information for your future clients, and who know when to stop writing about one topic category and switch to others when the client needs these.

If you can get people for your Internet Marketing Firm who are strong in both IT and writing, that would be a bonus. Also, an Online Marketing Company needs people who are skilled in other disciplines. For instance, every business needs an accountant to manage the finances of the Internet Marketing Firm. If you yourself know how to do simple accounting, that's a start but there will come a time in the growth of your Online Marketing Company when you need someone who is really trained in this discipline. Hiring an accountant is a good business decision so you can concentrate on other competencies of your Internet Marketing Company. You may need MIS personnel in addition to your regular Internet Marketing Company techies so that your techies don't wind up using their precious time managing your IT systems in-house and can concentrate on serving your clients instead.

3. Marketing resource person Yes, you have your techies and you have your writers, but Marketing is something that is a specialty in itself. If your Online Marketing Firm team of techies and writers seems to be able to cope, you might want to give them opportunities for continuous learning by sending them to marketing seminars. It may cost you a pretty penny, so try sending one representative at a time who will then educate the rest of the staff of your Internet Marketing Company when he returns with a wealth of knowledge.

An Internet Marketing Company has to be competitive so you really need to spend a lot of time, energy and resources trying to find clients who will hire your services. The field is dominated already by quite a lot of players so you have your work hard for you to at least join the growing bandwagon. This is why your Online Marketing Company has to function like a close-knit fraternity or sorority of like-minded people who work in conjunction with one another. People are people though so expect some clashes to happen at time, but always make sure you develop a strong Internet Marketing Company culture so that your staff is able to iron out any differences before they escalate into bigger problems.

How To Get Your Articles Published Online

Article marketing, using articles to boost your traffic and sales, is one of the most effective online marketing strategies you can use. Why you ask? Because articles are the perfect marketing tools for promoting any website or product.

However, it is not just simply a matter of throwing a few words together on a webpage and hoping for the best. To effectively use articles as marketing tools you must follow some simple procedures and practices in order to get your articles published online and in ezines more often.

Here are some article marketing tips you can try. These methods are proven and have worked for thousands of professional online marketers including the one writing this piece.

Why Articles Work

But before we start, you must understand why articles are so crucial to your marketing in the first place. You must truly understand why and how articles work so effectively as marketing vehicles in our newly wired world. It all boils down to one word... information.

The main reason articles work is information. The whole Internet is based on information. People use the web to access information and your well written article can help satisfy this need. You must place your article squarely into this whole information cycle.

Your article must be informative and provide some benefit to the reader. Tips, advice, how-to... your reader should gain something from spending a few minutes reading your article. The more beneficial your article, the more popular it will become and you will have a better chance of getting it published.

Title & Keywords

Your article title should contain two vital elements: Keywords and Benefits. Your title must contain your keywords or keyword phrases, these are the exact words someone types into the search engines to find what they are looking for on the web.

You must find the exact words people are using and include these in your title as well as in your article. Many professional marketers use keyword research software like Keyword Elite but you can also use free keyword suggestion tools like WordTracker or Overture: http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/

I find short catchy titles are best for capturing the attention of the reader. With our split second surfing habits, the title may be your only chance you get to hook your readers and keep them on your page. Another tactic is to make all your articles easily scannable with your main points highlighted for quick absorption.

Length

Most experts suggest you keep your articles short, in the 500 - 700 word range. Many authors/marketers use even shorter formats in the 200 - 300 word range in order to fit neatly on webpages.

I personally have found my more meatier articles in the 900 - 1200 word range have worked the best for me and seems to get featured in important ezines like Addme, SiteProNews... more often than shorter articles. My best advice is to cut out any unnecessary fluff but write in your own natural style which is comfortable for you.

Submission

You must distribute your articles on the web. You can personally submit your articles to the many article directory sites on the web or you can purchase a service which does this for you. I do both.

I personally submit my articles to the major high PR6 or PR7 sites which display my articles. I have found articles placed on Ezinearticles.com, Buzzle.com, Goarticles.com, Articlealley.com, Promotionworld.com, Thumbshots.org, Site-reference.com, Ideamarketers.com, Selfgrowth.com... do extremely well.

I would suggest you use 9 or 10 of these highly popular sites to display your articles, not only for the traffic they deliver but for increasing your rankings in the search engines, especially Google.

I have also found using a paid online service like SubmitYourArticle is really helpful, especially when I am on vacation or away from my computer for any length of time. I also use this service to quickly write different versions of my articles for the best search engine optimization. I am also concerned with covering different article lengths because many webmasters will only publish short articles.

Resource Box/Anchor Text

Your resource box is at the end of each article and this is where you place URLs for those all important One-Way links back to your site. Many marketers are careful to place their targeted keywords and variations in the anchor text of their links. It is also a good idea to provide some benefit or free gift to enhance your 'call to action' and improve your chances of getting that all important click.

Be Consistent

I have found a steady supply of fresh articles on a regular basis works the best. These articles keep your site or products fresh in the search engines and in front of your potential customers and editors/webmasters who publish your content. Try for at least two articles per week.

Own List of Editors

Along the same lines, build your own opt-in list of editors and webmasters who have opted in to receive your latest articles. Send a copy of your article to these interested parties and you will increase your chances of getting your articles published.

I also make it a point of including my most popular articles in my own ezines and blogs. This helps to kickstart or launch my newest articles.

Autoresponders

Many marketers place their articles in autoresponders so anyone requesting your article can easily use email to retrieve it. Many marketers also use RSS feeds to distribute their articles. If doing your own feeds seems too complicated, then just use any of the major article directories like Ezinearticles which will supply you with a convenient RSS feed for your articles.

Spam Check Your Articles

I always make it a point of testing my articles for any words or phrases that will trigger the spam filters and block my articles. This is extremely important if you want your article to be featured in ezines and newsletters. I check my articles within my Aweber autoresponder service but you can use a free SpamCheck service offered by SiteSell: http://bizwaremagic.com/spamcheck.htm

Personality

Articles that show some originality and personality have worked the best for me. Showing and telling your own story and experiences in a light hearted way seems to work really well in the somewhat impersonal online world. Having a sense of humor also helps, try to make your articles entertaining as well as informative and your articles will be picked up more often.

Conclusion

Writing unique informative articles is one of the most effective ways to market on the web. Remember to keep your articles informative, personable, keyword rich, short and to the point. Take a pro-active approach to promoting your articles: submit them to the major online article directories, send them to editors and webmasters who request content from you and place your articles on your site, in your blogs and RSS feeds.

Used properly, articles can be effective marketing tools for boosting both your traffic and sales. Perhaps the best part of all, article marketing is completely free. What more can you ask for?

List Building - How To Build A Profitable List Of Responsive Buyers On eBay

When it comes to list building, the quality of the leads generated is important. And there's no better place on the Internet for generating high quality leads than on eBay. eBay is a wonderful place for businesses to advertise and sell directly, because people who are visiting that site are in a buying mood. They are not just merely looking for information, they are in the mood to buy something.

So how you can use this to your advantage? You can build a list of highly responsive buyers.

Here's how to do it:

Step 1: Create a low cost report

Create a report (an ebook) that is about 15-30 pages long. It should contain quality information about the topic you want to write about. If you cannot write the report yourself, hire a professional from Elance who will write it for you at a reasonable price.

Step 2: List your report on eBay

List your report on eBay at a $0.99 Buy It Now price. Why so low? Well you want as many buyers as possible to enter your marketing funnel. It only costs about $0.30 (plus a very small listing fee) to list your item. While making a small profit, you are going to be building your list. Read on!

Step 3: Build a list

Once your customer has bought your low cost report, he will be directed to an opt-in page, that has an opt-in form from your autoresponder. When your customer opts in, he has opted in to your list. You can then market to them for follow-up offers!

7 Mistakes That Will Kill Your Article

Article writing has become, in the last few years one of the most effective ways to get qualified visitors to your web site. The article though, must be able to grab the readers attention and be informative enough to leave the reader with a feeling of having learned something. There are 7 mistakes that you can make which will actually kill your article. Along with not grabbing the readers attention and not being informative, spelling and grammar mistakes, the use of keywords, Plagiarizing, self promotion, and miss use of the resource box will all kill an article. In this article I will explain these mistakes in some detail and ways to avoid them.

First of all you need a title that will grab the readers attention. You want the reader to want to read through your article. Most people are so busy these days that they just skim through to see if there is anything worth reading. Nice catchy titles that start with for example "The 5 Reasons You Should...", "10 Ways To Improve Your...". You get the idea. Once You get them interested with the title, you then want to give them some informative content. something they can take away from the article.

Secondly, the content of your article must have something of value for the reader to stay interested. The content must be informative and educational, give the reader something they didn't know before they read the article. You do not have to be an expert just, Know what you are writing about and do not make the topic to broad, the reader will lose interest quickly. You should also include some well placed key words in your content.

The third mistake is the miss use of key words. You want to use a key word density of 1-3%. You do not want to saturate your article with key words. Search engines will not frown on you if you stay with in the 1-3 % density. It is when you go well beyond the 1-3% that the search engines start to see your article as being auto written. You don't want to have them give you a bad reputation so it's wise to stay within the percentages.

The fourth mistake is a self promoting article. An article that is full of hype and self promotion is transparent and a big turn off to experienced marketers. Those types of articles never get read and surely never get downloaded to other peoples sites, newsletters and e-zines. Self promoting should be left for your personal website or your ads. Stay away from self promoting in your articles. Any kind of promoting of your site or product should be in your resource box.

The fifth mistake is plagiarizing, using someone else's original article as your own. In writing articles original content is the best way to go. If you do not know too much about the subject you want to write about than do some research and take notes. From your notes you can format your article and expand from there. If you like someone's article that you see in a directory you can use it as long as you include the resource box at the end of the article and keep in tact. You must give the original author credit when ever you use their articles.

Number six naturally is resource boxes. These must be used wisely. Do not put too much in this box. This is where you let the reader know who you are, what you do, and where your website is located. You do not want to get to crazy with this because too much can turn a person off. And the whole point of the article is to get the reader interested in who you are so that they can go to your resource box and click on the link to your website. Make sure though that your spelling is correct. You do not want to go through all the trouble of writing a good article and than misspell your website address.

The seventh and probably the most important mistake that is made is that article writers do not use that handy little button on their tool bar that says "SPELL CHECK". It does not matter how good you are at writing. You should always use the spell checker. A Well written article with no spelling or grammar mistakes will show the readers that you are a professional and you care about the product that you put out. After all an article that you write is a product that you put out.

Articles are fun to write and they do bring quality visitors to your website if they are done correctly. Making sure that you do not commit any of these seven mistakes will insure that you write a good quality article that people will want to read. Have fun and may your article writing be a success.

How Do I Get My Articles Into Magazines?

I once thought back in the old days that you had to have an article idea before you sent a query letter through the mail to a magazine. I'm sure a lot of us are in the same boat, buying stamps, waiting for rejections from magazines to pile up. Well, this certainly isn't a very beneficial approach so allow me to enlighten you to what I have personally discovered.

Do you want to write for a magazine?

First, let's start with who you are and what you know about? Do you hold a black belt or do you have your own business? Do you know stuff about education? Are you really into reporting on the latest products? Do you like doing book reviews?

Make yourself aware of your two or three strengths in terms of knowledge and writing. Write a few articles on each subject right away. These will be your examples. Focus to start with on service articles, articles that teach something. This will now make up your portfolio.

Secondly, it's time to find about ten or twelve publications you are interested in. Look on the internet. Find some more on the store shelves. Don't give up until you have your amount. You may not be successful with these ten or twelve but at the same time, you will just have to repeat the step later.

Thirdly, design an email to the Articles Editor of each of these magazines. In two paragraphs, let them know who you are and what you're prepared to write. Pepper these two paragraphs with a few of your article ideas and at the bottom, paste one of your articles right there as an example.

Then, email away. Chances are at least one will get back to you. Do not make the mistake of writing directly to the Articles Editor. Instead, search out a name for each of these magazines and make sure your email says his or her name.

Once you have one 'yes', please submit any articles for his or her consideration. Then, repeat the process until you have five to ten magazines you routinely write for. As you have already developed a portfolio of up-to-date articles, consider submitting a few of those first but always make sure you note somewhere in your email that you're flexible and will also write assigned tasks. It may take awhile before you are assigned articles but it never hurts to make it known that you are at their service.

Now, isn't that better than waiting for the rejection slips to pile up?

The Article Submission Process Is Exhausting, But Necessary

The article submission process is a bit like an inflight movie. You can enjoy it but you might fall asleep a couple of times, get interrupted by the guy sitting next to you or the flight attendant taking your drink order, or you could just miss the best line in the movie because you were daydreaming and looking at the clouds.

It's a long and arduous process.

Sure, you could get one of those mass article submitters and send your articles out to thousands of article directories - most of which won't publish your article anyway. After all, why would a Croatian language directory publish your article on infant mittens written in English?

There are thousands of directories online but only a handful will do you any good. That's why I recommend studying the directories and picking the ones that will provide you the best benefit. There are several reasons you want to do it this way:

  • First, as already mentioned, not all directories will be of interest to you, or interested in your article;
  • Every directory has its own guidelines - some allow links in the article and some allow links only in the author resource box, but that is just one of the many differences. By studying the directories and their submission guidelines, you can tailor your article to each directory to ensure a more qualified, and better quality, article for potential ezine publishers;
  • Specialty and niche directories are easier to find with keyword searches;
  • Article submission software may not have a complete list of the latest directories. Yours may actually cost for an upgrade.
If you want to use an article submitter, I recommend a free one that allows you to create an author bio and upload your article with a push of a button (no need to spend hundreds of dollars to be turned down more often than not). Article Submitter is such a software. It allows you to pick and choose your directories then automate your submission to each of those directories and tweak the article or your author bio to personalize for a particular directory's guidelines if necessary.

Still, even with the best automation process, article submissions can be time consuming. That doesn't mean there aren't benefits.

Here are a few benefits to ponder:

1) You can be a recognized expert in your field in a very short time; 2) Publishers and editors of newsletters and ezines are begging for content - they need your articles and they constantly scour the Web looking for good material to use; 3) Every article features an author's resource box where your contact information is located along with links back to your web site; 4) Whenever an ezine publisher or web site picks up your article, the search engines count each link in your resource box as an inbound link; 5) Articles are a great way to drive traffic to your web site.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. You really do want to submit your articles to the directories. Specialty directories, niche directories, general article directories, you name it.

Not every directory will pick up your article, of course. They all have their guidelines. Some are strict and some are not. I like the strict ones because it means they are interested in well-written articles. That's what I like. The only caution I would issue is this: Stay away from those directories that will take anything. Article spam is about as annoying as any other kind of spam. It tastes baaaaaaaaaad.

If push comes to shove and you want to submit your articles but don't have the time, you can always hire someone to do it for you. But the one thing you shouldn't do is ignore it altogether.

Internet Marketing Articles - Writing These Articles Can Teach You a Lot About Yourself

Article marketing has the potential of changing your life forever. Nothing like starting out with a statement that can knock your socks off. I do believe this is true. I dismissed article marketing when I was first introduced to the idea. There were several aspects of it that I thought just did not make sense: the first of which was that you could take other articles and just change a few words and make them your own. I could see right away, that this type of thing would have no value.

The idea was presented to me again at a later point, and by now I had heard enough times what a great way it was to promote your business, and how inexpensive it was that I thought I would give it a try. I started by submitting 10 articles. All 10 of my articles were rejected, and had to be rewritten or fixed two or three times before I got them submitted: needless to say, this took considerable time and effort.

The funny thing was that this did not discourage me; it actually convinced me that article marketing was indeed a legitimate form of Internet marketing. Simply stated, if it took this much effort to get my article submitted to the top article directory, then the other articles being submitted had to be at least this good and more likely, better.

I guess what I am saying is that unlike what I had thought originally, articles could be a valuable resource for readers, therefore they were a legitimate source of information, meaning they would actually be read by people looking for information.

What I concluded from all of this is article marketing attracts a very real group of potential prospects to be targeted; therefore, if I was to master the skills and become an expert article marketer, I could build a very solid business and career online. This means you can too.

Article Marketing Online - The Basics Of Article Marketing

The thought of writing articles for some is not a pleasant one, people believe article writing is too hard and never even give themselves a chance. That's the worst thing you can do. I know because it held me back for a long time. When I finally summoned up the courage to start thinking positively about writing articles, it was not as hard as I was making it out to be.

I am assuming if you have read this much of this article, you want to write articles as a way to market your business online. Let me tell you that it is one of the best ways to market online from my testing and experience. In order to make your article marketing easier, there is one important asset you should already have or want to have.

That is a good knowledge of the subject matter you will be writing about. Once this is in place, article marketing will become a breeze. Article marketing is nothing more than you talking to someone about a topic or subject, that's all there is to it. That's the reason it is so important for you to have a good background of your topic or subject matter.

Now that we have that out of the way, the next thing we want to do is research. Research other authors in your field and see how they are writing their articles? What are they talking about? Keep in mind you will be submitting your articles to directories online so you want to visit these directories prior to writing your first article.

I wasted 17months trying to drive profitable traffic to my website, but you should not do the same. Instead click here to get a copy of my "Quality Traffic Report". In it I will show you my results after testing article marketing vs. google pay per click, you can use the results to start driving profitable traffic to your website.
