And In The Beginning There Was SEO

So youve just launched your brand spanking new website and are now probably expecting people to flock to your site in droves and give your lots of money. Where are they you may ask as the weeks go by with only very minimal traffic coming into your site. Well they are not visiting you because you need to promote your site online by carrying out SEO, building a site is only part of the battle.

You may be wondering what SEO is. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and is as the name suggests what you must do to optimise your site to be well placed in search engines. So what can you do to increase your presence in the major search engines?

Back links are the major key to increasing the traffic coming into your site and improving your ranking for search terms entered. A back link is a link that points to your website from another website. Generally the more back links have pointing towards your site the better, although the quality of link is important as well, so its best practice to avoid getting back links from non-relevant themed sites or pages.

How does one go about getting these back links?

A good start would be to begin submitting your site to free directories, premium directories, niche directories and to write quality articles related to your website and then submit these to article sites.

There are many directories on the internet with many allowing you to submit your site for free inclusion. There are also many premium directories which charge a fee for including your site, which can be more useful for getting a higher quality link (If you have the budget). Niche directories related to your site can also be beneficial for getting a quality themed link.

Articles represent another excellent way to gain back links. There are hundreds of article submission sites on the internet which are always on the look out for well written and informative articles for their readers, which allow you to submit your article for free. In return for submitting your article to these sites most sites will provide you with the opportunity to create a back link at the bottom of your article that points back to your website. If you have a website about travel for example you could write articles about various popular travel destinations from around the world. If you get stuck for ideas the internet is great for swatting up on your facts, just be sure to write the article in your own words.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this brief introduction into the world of SEO and I wish you all the luck in the world with promoting your site.

3 Tips For Finding High Quality Links For a Niche Website With Limited Resources

I got asked this question the other day; "Well, I was wondering if you could maybe give me some tips or suggestions on Link Building Strategies...Where I am struggling with it that it seems that it takes a lot of resource to really break into some major link building strategies...and currently I have a limited resource and trying to find high quality links for a gardening website. Any thoughts, suggestions, tips....I would love to hear from you!" I think this is a great question because most of the people who are starting dropshipping businesses are in fact "niche websites", and have limited resources.

I have some tips for finding high quality links that will not be a strain on your budget, but rather your time. If you can follow some simple steps, and not get your feelings hurt for being told "no", then you will be able to build some amazing links, and improve your link building strategies.

* Tip One - Search Google for related niche websites that have articles that you could get a link in. Here is how you would go about it - On Google type in "gardening articles" or " keyword articles" obviously putting in your keyword where I say "keyword". I would suggest going several hundred pages back and finding sites with good content that are indexed on Google, and do not have many outbound links.

* Tip Two - If you are not familiar with "cache" or "indexed" as far as it goes with Google let me explain. You want to make sure the page is indexed on Google which means that Google knows the page exists. If it does not exist in their database then it will not do you any good if its linking to you. The final thing to consider is the "cached date". You need to make sure if it is indexed that the cached date is a recent one. If you find a page that the cache date is almost a year old, again the link will do you no good. If it is a recently cached page, then there is a chance it will be re-cached (re-indexed in a way) soon and the link will do you some good.

To find out the cache date of any page type this in Google - cache: www.yourpage.com/articlepage.htm - make sure you put the URL you are wanting to test where I have the "www.yourpage.com/articlepage.htm" You will not find higher quality links that will do you more good with the search engines.

* Tip Three - Read the post over at the 97th Floor on building links with Google News and this will be another amazing resource to finding powerful links. These three simple tips are a good place for anyone looking for niche link building strategies to begin with.

The links you find will be high quality and targeted, and they will not cost you anything but the time it takes to do the research and ask for the link. This is also the point where you need to not worry about people telling you no. I get about 5 out of 10 telling me no, but the other 5 telling you yes, are worth it. If you can even build up a couple targeted links a day using this method it will be a good place for a niche website with limited resources to start with.

Dish Network - Does it Function With Trees Between the Dish Antenna & Satellite?

A lot of Dish Network enthusiasts are often faced with the query of whether Dish Network can function smoothly if there are trees blocking the clear transmissions between the dish antennas and the satellites. Though the answer cannot be stated in very definite terms as either "Yes" or "No", but most studies demonstrate that there is a dim possibility that this claim might be true.

So what is the solution around it? To be on the safer side, it would be ideal to have a professional visit your area of Dish Network installation and have it surveyed for a feasibility report. These professionals are easy to find and they have the necessary mechanisms to measure signal strengths at various positions around your property to determine the area of optimal signal efficiency.

Trees being unpredictable in their growth, shape, and structure of leaves and branches, each instance of a sighted tree in the way of a dish network is unique. Many of them make no difference to the network and there are still others that do.

Because the dish network professionals are well-versed with the root cause of the issue, they will have grasp on conducting a thorough geographical survey of the area of installation. This will help them determine the height at which your dish antenna will have to be mounted for maximum signal reception.

So for instance the more you travel to the North, say for example around the New Hampshire area, a dish will have to be mounted at a much lower height for clarity in signals. Whereas, the opposite is true, going towards the South, say for instance around Florida, where the dish will have to be mounted at a much higher elevation.

Having a professional conduct a survey for your Dish Network installation is recommended during the summer months. This is because summers will witness the trees in their full-bloom, as compared to winters when the signals will be better anyway due to leaf shedding.

The Natural SEO and Affordable Local Advertising Will Take You Places!

You have created an excellent info product that will help a lot of women who have time on their hands, as they are like you - a "work at home mother", ever since your little boy started going to the regular school. Your web designing experience is responsible for those attractive web pages. Your web site now gives all the information and a product that contemporary mothers will find simply irresistible! But here comes the catch - where are those ladies who will buy this E-Book? You are all alone in this venture and very excited to make a success of it. What is it that does not fill up the blanks? There are two things you can do. Either you find an agent who can sell your widget or you can do it yourself on the Internet - sitting comfortably at home.
Let us consider both these alternatives.

Selling through an agency is no longer a viable proposition for small home type of business and the ever enticing "work at home" label appears to be the best bet in your case. Great, you have decided to work out the possibilities online - rather than go through the difficulties and vagaries of looking for a good agent or salesperson. Did you know that there are many ethical web or net marketing individuals and companies like webwisemedia.com that can make your dream come true? Consider your web pages and the content you have developed for that brochure selling your info product. If you have decided to go online, your marketing technique would be quite different from the traditional offline methods. You will need to know that people come to your website through Search Engines who have in turn indexed your web pages - they must find it interesting and useful in the first place to index them!

Your SEO consultant from webwisemedia.com tells you of their "Natural SEO"method of placing the web site on the search engine's front pages. This actually means that you have not paid for indexing and though it takes more time to reflect on the search engine's ranking system, your pages will eventually show up during your keyword search by someone looking for your widget. Of course the procedure and philosophy of search engines is more complex and it's easier said than done! Your friendly SE Consultant also told you that he will ensure an Advertising Local for your web site pages and try to place them on the most popular directories like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Yellow Pages and several similar sources where people search for their needs. Good, now you are all set and ready to start counting the mullah!

Search engine inclusion is really a dynamic process and your page rank or position on the first five pages can vary from time to time. The natural SEO also ensures that the web site is continuously updated and in line with the SE's algorithms lest they start falling down in rank and your traffic subsequently drops. Consider taking time off for checking your positions and traffic statistics at least once per week so that you do not land in a situation where your competition takes over your excellent info product!
