Article Marketing as an Effective Way of Promoting a Web Based Business

There are many ways of promoting a web based business. One of the most effective ways is to promote you website or product is by launching an article marketing campaign. Article marketing is one of the internet marketing methods which can generate the best targeted results for you. This is really important because if the means of promotion is not effective, the product will not get the required level of promotion and will not do well. Article marketing is also one of the best ways of promoting a web based business or selling a product online. Targeted article marketing is not only cost effective but can bring you highly targeted, ready to buy visitors.

Online article marketing can be done successfully by writing a lot of articles on a daily basis and by submitting these to the right article submission directories. Submission of articles to the right directories is as important as writing really good content about the topic. The technique of writing a really good and content rich article that will answer the reader's question is something you need to learn if you want to write informative articles quickly. The words you use should be your own as online article marketing is very much dependent on the originality and quality of your articles.

Write as many articles as possible, organize them properly and submit them to the right article directories in the right order and you will have a successful article marketing campaign.

On Page SEO Optimization Made Easy

SEO is the one of the most important skill sets any internet marketer should have. It's one of the easiest and most profitable forms of traffic any website owner could receive. Search Engine Traffic is not the easiest to obtain however. One of the most important things a website owner should learn is how to optimize their web pages specifically for the search engines.

First things first, you should have your keyword picked out and ready to go. Once you've got that you can proceed to optimizing your web page.

It's also recommended that you have a rudimentary understanding of HTML.

Title Tags

The first thing you should do is include your keyword inside the title tags. The title tags are the first elements right after the head tags. They look like this

<title></title>

It's best that you include some other related text after you input the keyword. If my keyword was SEO I'd input something like

<title>SEO - Tips And Tricks For Optimizing Webpages</title>

You can also add the title element to your outgoing links.

Header Tags

Header tags are in my opinion the second most important part of on page optimization right after optimized content. Header tags look like

<h1></h1> and should be placed right before the content of your website. You should always place your keyword in header tags with a few other words relevant to your content. Also, always bold your keyword in your header tags.

Bold Your Keywords

It's always a good practice to add bold tags to your keyword when in your content. Bold tags look like

<b></b> and your keywords should always be enclosed in them whenever they come up in your content.

Image Alt Tag

If you can swing it, your keyword should be included in the alt tag of one of your images. The ALT element can be added to an image if it isn't already. If you need help with this part of on page optimization then I suggest you look it up at htmlhelp.com.

Keywords In Your Content

You should always include your keyword in your content. It's always better if you keep your keyword density around 3-6%. Keyword Density means your keyword should make up 3-6% of your content. Content should always be unique and relevant to your website.

If you follow all of these steps and techniques you should be on your way to ranking over your competitors. Remember, on page optimization isn't the deciding factor when it comes to rankings. Build your links and create good content for best results.

What is EMarketing? A New Discipline is Evolving

Before trying to define the term of eMarketing (or electronic marketing, so to speak), we should first take a look at the premises of its apparition and development.

The theories concerning eMarketing have not been unified yet, due to a large diversity in specialists' opinions. Still, one of the aspects that is established and has ceased being discussed in contradictory, is the fact that electronic marketing first appeared under the form of various techniques used by companies distributing their products through online channels (Internet based). That happened back in the pioneering age before 1995. These companies that opened the road were called "e-tailers", as opposed to the traditional retailers (also known as "brick-and-mortar" retailers). During their limited life, these electronic retailers began to develop and frenetically introduced new marketing techniques based on the support offered by the internet.

The online technologies mentioned above developed in the context created by the e-tailers, they are widely used these days by B2C and B2B organizations. In other words, they evolved towards what we call now eMarketing (you can also spell it e-Marketing if you wish, the "e-" stands in both cases for "electronic").

You might find as extremely useful and suggestive the perspective offered by the eMarketing Association (eMA). You heard a lot, especially over the past 2 years, about the decline of online businesses (or the decline of dotcoms), but this temporary difficulty can be viewed as a similarity to the impasse of Columbus during his expedition that made him famous more than half millennium ago. The initial "business plan" with which Columbus started this trip (that of bringing the Asian resources in his country and getting fabulously rich) was a complete disaster: catastrophic estimations, not enough resources allocated, total lack of information upon the environment he will develop his "business" in, but... he discovered America instead and changed the world for ever. In a similar manner, we can say that the dotcoms, despite their terrible strategies (if any), "discovered" by mistake the world of eMarketing.

As we already noticed, defining eMarketing is still highly problematic. Still, what do we mean when we use this term? As many other English words, the term was born by adding the prefix "e-" to a term already known and used, in this case "marketing". The prefix "e-" is actually the extreme contraction of the word "electronic" and is quite omnipresent in todays language of many people: "e-marketing", "e-business", "e-mail", "e-learning", "e-commerce", "e-", "e-", "e-"...

The simplest definition of eMarketing could be that suggested by Mark Sceats: the eMarketing that uses internet as manifestation channel.

A more comprehensive, practical definition is the one formulated by specialists of CISCO company: eMarketing is a generic term utilized for a wide range of activities advertising, customer communications, branding, fidelity programs etc. using the internet. More than the simple development of a website, the eMarketing focuses on online communications, direct dialog with consumers who thus participate to the creation of new products, finding efficient methods to win customer's fidelity and ease their business-making process. eMarketing is the sum of activities a company makes with the purpose of finding, attracting, winning and retaining customers.

At last, for those of you interested in a more scientific approach, we could say that eMarketing allows relational exchanges in digital, networked and interactive environments (acronym: DNI environments). Earlier in the history of eMarketing, it was conceptualized as being focused upon the exchanges, but today's theoreticians suggest the exchange paradigm is a limited modality to define eMarketing.

Whichever definition you will choose to use, will depend on where exactly you need to use it and for what purpose. You can probably formulate a definition yourself, according to your own knowledge, experience and view upon what is eMarketing.

However, one conclusion needs to be drawn in connection with eMarketing: it has developed over the past few years into a standalone discipline, with its own conceptual apparatus, tools and laws, but with a still-to-be systematized knowledge.

Article Marketing to Drive Huge Traffic

The last few days have been exciting to me, as I have documented some of the results from writing and submitting articles (article marketing). I wrote one article and submitted it to 50 article directories. Within 5 days, my article was showing up or being referenced on 408 web sites, according to google.

Within 6 days, the article was showing up in both the number 8 and the number 9 positions in google for the keyword I used in the article.

Now, dont get me wrong. I write a lot of articles. And I have done a lot of testing in the past. But I havent done any testing like this in a few months. And it is amazing how powerful article marketing is.

We hear a lot online about how article marketing is going away, how it cant really work anymore with all the problems with the search engines. Well, I have proved it all wrong.

Article marketing does work, and it works today.

So how does article marketing work, and how can you do it?

This is what I do:

1) I write articles based on whatever keyword I want to get high rankings in, or I write articles based on whatever topic I want visitors in.

2) I write a bio with a persuasive link to my web site.

3) I submit my articles to a list of article directories.

That is basically all I do.

Then, I write more articles.

Articles are the driving force behind my traffic generation, and I generate around 500 unique visits to my web site everyday.

Breakthrough Article Marketing - Revealed - 3 Authentic Secrets

If you are looking for the best marketing tool that can virtually do it all - drive quality traffic to your website, pull up your search engine ranking, establish your expertise on your chosen niche, build a trusting and fruitful relationship with your potential clients, augment your sales potential, and ultimately, bring you enormous profits, article marketing is just right for you. This is the process of writing and submitting articles to publishing sites to gain quality inbound links for your website and impart your specialized knowledge to online users.

Here are the 3 authentic secrets to breakthrough with article marketing:

1. Topics. In choosing your topics, you have to make sure that they are relevant to your target market and highly related to the products that you are promoting. This is to effectively educate your potential clients while building up your products all at the same time.

2. Titles. This is one of the few elements that can either make or break your article marketing campaign. You see, when people go online and search for information they need, they are usually presented with numerous articles. To make sure that they will click on your articles, you need to create titles that are striking and attention-grabbing. Once you were able to convince online users to check on your content, you virtually won half the battle of converting your readers to potential clients.

3. Content. Online users will click on your resource box if they find your content useful, relevant, and well-written. This signals them that you are actually good on what you do and that you have information that they need. This will compel them to check on your website for further reading and might consider doing business with you in the long run.

Internet Marketing Strategies For New Owners

Once your site is in place you are faced with several challenges that are going to affect not only how long your business lasts, but also how effectively you will be able to promote and market your product or service to a broad, narrow or specific audience.

The web today is a lot like popular competitions. The owners love their widgets, they dress them up, enhance their skill for the talent competition and travel all over to make sure that their widget is in the running for a really big prize. The key in this phase, probably the phase you are now in, is that it begins with tremendous passion for your product or service. You know what you are selling intimately. You either have been doing it for someone else for years, been working on the idea of starting something that will allow you to make your own hours, or want to share something great. But, what happens when your passion is actually out there and you haven't got a resource bank to put power it.

Think of a sail boat. They are so beautiful. You always see pictures of these beautiful boats and smiling people with a happy guy at the helm. If you love the sun, water, adventure, this is a wonderful picture and makes you really want to be there. But, what happens when there's no wind? Unless sitting in the middle of the ocean sharing the last can of beans is your plan (which we know isn't), you're going to need some gas in your engine to cruise into a port until the wind comes up. So let's talk about the first two steps in making sure you always have some gas.

Product and Service Growth List

You already know that your website is more than loving your product or service and knowing that it will be beneficial to others, or posting some articles about your product on your website, using the marketing features once and then waiting for the multitudes to arrive. The web is a constantly evolving medium so marketing and maintenance must be a continual evolving effort for you to stay alive in this market. If your goal is to have a constant flow of traffic that includes both new and return customers then posting information or updates at unscheduled intervals or not maintaining your site is not going to result in a thriving business. Without a lot of time, effort and some excellent resources to bounce ideas around with, enhance your marketing strategy and provide you with honest feed back, you're going to be in a leaky boat really fast. So first, take a moment to make a growth list.

Your growth list is what you currently have in place-Website, basic marketing package, sort of a contact list and anything else that you know is going to need to be updated on a regular basis, the things that will never go away. Next, list the resources you currently have. This would include any packages or pieces of packages that you have only tried once or not used at all.

The next column of your growth list will be "need but don't have." These are those things (skills, products, software) that you don't have but need. Do you know every detail about your product or service but can't write or present it in a way that excites others? If you have a product, is it one that can be easily shared with others? Does your full-time job keep you from having the time to write articles, create ezines or newsletters, or cultivate and grow your market? In the web culture marketing is one of the biggest factors in growing your business effectively.

Once completed, keep your list in a safe place. Review your list often and add to it whenever you have an idea or see something that you might like to explore later. Don't delete anything. Your growth list is a keystone in creating and growing your marketing strategy.

Marketing Resource List

You want to create a list of the resources that you currently have on hand. This list includes people you know who will provide totally honest and unbiased opinions, mentors and tools that you have (even if you have never used them). Be sure to include contact or purchase information for your resources. As your business grows you will continue adding to this list. I have resource books that I morphed from address books purchased from my local market. This list will grow at an astonishing rate if you stick to your action plan.

Resources come in many forms. When I find an excellent book, article or piece of software or happen upon a great website I always put the title, author and other information in my resource book as well as the reason that I'm putting it there. This is especially important for the long term since you will forget in a year or two why you stuck a particular name, book or site on your list and if you haven't made a little note about it's purpose you may have to re-invent the wheel to get information that you already have.

Don't be afraid to contact authors or website owners when you want more information or have a question. Most of us love to write, chat and share information. The few out there who are just trying to solicit customers are pretty easy to spot and if you happen to wind up on an email list you really don't want to be on, you can always block it. For the most part though, when I contact someone with a question they are more than happy to answer the question. Usually I also get some great information that I didn't know I needed and in some cases I make a really good e-friend. Again, be sure to put these in your resource book as well as why you contacted them and what you learned. (You've probably figured out that I have several resource books).

There are many steps to take in growing your new business but the two items discussed above are by far the most important to ensure that you have a successful and growing internet business.

Profitable Article Marketing - Discover 5 Great Ways to Make Money Through Article Marketing

It is no secret that article marketing is currently the best product and website promotional tool in the internet today. Webmasters simply love it as it continues to bring favorable results not only in terms of augmenting traffic, profits and sales leads, but also in securing better ranking on search engines.

1. Increase the chances of your articles being picked up and republished by other webmasters by making them all content-rich, informative, useful, attention-grabbing, and keyword-rich. This can potentially increase the number of inbound links for your website that can lead to increased traffic and more sales leads.

2. Create compelling titles. Your headlines are your only tools in getting people to take interest on your articles when they are shown on search page results together with other articles written by different authors. If your titles are attention-grabbing and enticing, your articles will stand better chances of being opened and read.

3. Keep your articles short. People online generally prefer articles that run 300-500 words. Why? Because they are easy on the eyes and more interesting to read compare to lengthy articles. Besides, online users usually do not have much time to spare when they are looking for information over the internet.

4. Keep your sales pitches off your content. Avoid making your articles sound like sales letters. Remember, in order to convince your readers to visit your website is to give them information that they will find useful and relevant to their needs. Reserve your sales pitches for your resource box.

5. Pick the best publishing sites. Submitting your articles online can be a tedious and time-consuming task. It would help if you can identify the article submission sites that can give your articles the exposure they need and just ignore those which do not have steady traffic or not indexed by Google.

If one wants to become a more successful professional, fitting book writing into the schedule can help one achieve many goals.

Having books on the shelves of bookstores will make one's name stand out as someone who is involved in a certain field of expertise. The author's name will be connected with that profession, and people will notice.

A book signing event can be arranged with any bookstore. Selling the book is not the only purpose of the book signing. One will also be getting valuable personal exposure. People will be meeting one and becoming aware of one as a professional.

5 Quick Tips To Instant Bum Marketing Success

What has been taking the Internet marketing world by storm? Answer: Bum Marketing! The Bum Marketing Method, a creation of Travis Sago, is the killer strategy of writing search engine optimized articles to promote affiliate programs. Needless to say, the popularity of this method has caught on and thousands are making their first affiliate commission online using the Bum Marketing Method.

If youre looking to get started in Bum Marketing, here are 5 quick tips I personally follow, that you can use to start making instant cash on the Internet :

1. Focus on not just one niche, but many niches!

In Bum Marketing, less is not more. Once youve made some cash in a niche, look to duplicate your success in other niches. Keep adding niches to your Bum Marketing portfolio and your income will soar.

2. Write as many articles as you can

Find whatever free time you have in your day to write articles, even if its on a train or even if youre in the toilet doing your business! Hey, you want to make real money online, right?

3. Promote residual income programs

Why make just one sale, when you can make more cash by promoting a residual income affiliate program? Lets say you promote a membership site, and the customer you refer stays for years to come. Youll be paid affiliate commissions on this one referral for the entire time the customer stays with the service! There's no other option.

4. Outsource your work

If youre dropping yourself dead tired to bed everyday from writing articles, then its time to outsource some of that dirty work! Look to sites like Elance.com to hire a freelancer to write up some articles for you whenever you feel lazy. When your income is going up, this is a real quality option to take.

5. Get the product

Contact your affiliate programs owner to see if you can get a copy of the product. This way, you can write quality reviews on the product to promote it. Some affiliate program owners wont mind giving you a copy if youve proven yourself a super affiliate, others wont mind sending it over at all! They know its to their benefit in the long run.

Choosing the Right Keywords

Choosing the right keywords can dramatically increase your Web site traffic. How do you know if youve picked the right ones? These three steps will help you make the right decision when it comes to selecting keywords for your site.

1. Think like your user.
2. Do your research.
3. Be specific.

When you start coming up with possible keywords, the first thing you need to do is narrow down what your Web site is about. Lets say Im creating a Web site about my favorite car, the Porsche 356 Speedster. It makes sense that my first keyword phrase would be Porsche 356 Speedster.

But lets think about this from a users perspective. What other words might someone use to find my site? How about sports car, convertible, or collector car?

If your Web site is about a specific industry, avoid using jargon. Instead, choose words that your customers would use to describe your product or service. You have to think like your user.

Next, you want to do some research. Take the keywords youve come up with and run them through a keyword tool, like the one from Yahoo! Search Marketing. There you will see how popular that phrase is as well as possible suggestions for similar words.

If you have Web analytics in place, check your keyword analysis and see what words are already driving traffic to your site. If you dont have Web analytics, get them. They can tell you a lot about your site and your users.

Also, research the words your competitors are using. Type your chosen keyword into Google and view the source on the page to see what other keywords the top ranking pages are using.

Finally, once youve come up with a list of keywords, make sure they are descriptive and specific. While car is a popular keyword, its too broad. I would need to qualify it with the type of car my site is about, like German car. Even then, I would be competing with Volkswagen and Audi.

The more relevant the keyword, the more qualified traffic you will receive. So pick your keywords with care. Its not an exact science. Its a combination of analysis, experimentation and good old common sense. It is important, though, so spend the time and energy it takes to get it right.

Productive Article Marketing - Latest 6 Comprehensive Methods to Grow Your Article Marketing

Article marketing is undoubtedly the most sought-after marketing tool in the internet today. Marketers simply love it because aside from the fact that it delivers great results it's also for free.

Here are the latest 6 comprehensive methods to grow your article marketing:

1. Write to inform and not to impress. People read articles because they would like to be equipped with valuable information that they will find useful and valuable to their lives. They would like the articles to be written in such a way that they would be easily understood. So, forget your love for big words and avoid presenting your information in an encyclopedia format.

2. Take advantage of major publishing sites. To give your articles the exposure they need, register to all leading article submission sites in the internet today. Check their page ranking and the kind of traffic they attract as these are two elements that can help you advance your article marketing strategies. Don't waste your time on publishing sites that have few members or newly constructed.

3. Never leave any stone unturned. By this, I mean strive to give your readers complete information so they would better understand your topic. You can do this through thorough research and brainstorming.

4. Don't advertise on your articles. Focus on giving your readers the information that they need. This is the surest way to convince them to check on your resource box.

5. Use striking resource box. To effectively convince your readers to check on your website, you need to make sure that your resource box is compelling and attention-grabbing. Communicate what you can offer or provide incentives to every person who checks on your website.

6. Keep your articles short. Avoid beating around the bush and present your information upfront.

Tips for Success With Article Marketing

The first step in article marketing is the submission process. Ezine publishers, article announcement lists and article directories are the most common places for submission. This will accomplish several things.

For starters, you will be considered as an expert in your field. This will establish a trust between you and the readers, as they will be able to value your opinions.

Submitting articles will also allow for greater publicity of your business. Submission requires a resource box to be attached to your article. This contains a link to your website that will be seen by the reader. If the reader wants to know more about what you do, they can simply click to see more.

Article marketing also allows for a non-reciprocal link to your website. This is important for your search engine page rank. Typically, more weight is given to non-reciprocal links in search engine page rankings.

So maybe this all sounds good to you, but you aren't comfortable writing your own articles. If you don't have the writing skills necessary, consider using private label articles. These are becoming more and more popular, and many of such services are available with new ones popping up all the time.

However, there are some specifications that need to be taken seriously. Otherwise the results produced may be problematic

The good thing about private label articles is that they may be able to offer the non-writer a high advantage over other markers. When used properly, they will likely increase your sales, traffic and opt in subscribers.

Be cautious of making the most common mistake known to private label articles: getting lazy. Put it in your mind from the start that copying and pasting the article for submission is a bad idea.

The majority of directory software will automatically do a search in their database to see if the title has been used before. If this is the case with an article that you submit, then yours will be rejected.

So, change the title at the very minimum. It's also recommended to change the wording in the first paragraph.

Another word of caution regards the number of links placed in your article. Many marketers will include so many links that the article just becomes an ad in a longer form. This will definitely get your rejected and maybe banned if it occurs too often.

The purpose of an article is to provide the reader with valuable and useful information. As long as your content is well written, the chances of the reader clicking on your link will increase.

Million Dollar Resource Box

Writing articles can be a very profitable exercise if you focus on the details. One of the most important details of your article is the authors Resource Box. Many authors mistakenly use it to market themselves. They talk about their education, their background, and their accomplishments. Unless you are a famous individual, no one really cares where you went to school, where you grew up, or any of your fabulous accomplishments. Dont waste precious space in the Resource Box to brag. If you feel a need to tell people how great you are, write about it in an article and see how many page views you get. Ive researched over a thousand articles and the number one reason that many writers fail to make money with their articles is due to a flawed Resource Box.

In the ideal Resource Box, you should tout three things: your website, one of your own promotional items, and an affiliate program. Ive seen countless articles that did not even mention a website.

The article is written to benefit the public, the Resource Box is written to compensate the author. Many authors have one Bio that they use for every article they submit. This is a big mistake. When I finish writing an article, I dont step away from the computer until I complete two Resource Boxes. A plain text version for sites that do not accept html in their articles, and an html version for sites that accept the a href command. If a site says that they will allow html in their article, I will submit the html version. If the site does not specifically state that they will accept html, or if they say that they will strip it out, I submit the plain text version.

Your targeted Resource Box should contain just three or four sentences. None of them will contain information about you.

Sentence 1) If you have a domain with a catchy name, make sure you use it instead of an html (a href) link. This sentence will contain a link or URL pointing to the opt-in (or squeeze) page on your website. In order to entice the reader to click, you will offer them incentives such as free downloads, free ebooks, or a free report of some kind.

Sentence 2) If the site permits it, use hyper-linked text for this and the following sentences. In this sentence, include a link or URL offering one of your own money-making products.

Sentence 3) If you wish, you can say a few words about how great your website is and the benefits of using it.

Sentence 4) This is the last sentence; provide a link or URL to an affiliate program you are promoting.

By using this format for your Resource Box, you will be compensated quite nicely for your articles.

Article Marketing - The Fourth Step to a Profit-Pulling Resource Box at the End of Your Articles

Article marketing requires you to ask the reader to take an action at the end of the article. One of the great things about article marketing is that at the end of every article is a resource box, that when used properly, drives the reader back to your website or blog.

The problem that I see every day with my students, members, and mentees, is that most writers do not know how to create or craft a powerful call to action.

How to create a powerful call to action

One of the principles on the Internet is that you cannot assume, ever, that the reader or visitor knows what to do next. In fact many readers do not know what to do next and therefore do not think.

I'll call to action is simply a request or invitation for the reader to take your most desired action. If you want the reader to download a free information product that your most desired action. If you want the reader to subscribe to a newsletter, then that your most desired action.

The point is simply this - you must invite the reader to take the next step which is your most desired action.

Here is an example of a call to action -

"Would you like free access to two of my Article Writing Templates? You can download them by going to (my url)."

In the above example I have taken the reader by the hand and invited them to take the next action that I desire them to take. That is a gentle yet powerful call to action for your resource box at the end of your articles.

Breakthrough Article Marketing - Discover 3 Key Secrets to Jumpstart Your Article Marketing

Nervous about starting your article marketing campaign? Don't be! Because technically, you have got nothing to lose in this technique. So long as you know how to produce quality articles or you have the resources to pay somebody to do it for you, you will surely rise above the rest. Here are the 3 key secrets to jumpstart your article marketing:

1. Do your research. What are the topics to write about? Well, the best topics for you are those that concern your potential clients and are relevant to the products or services you offer. Some of the best article marketers go to forums and they communicate to their potential buyers. Through this, marketers will get an idea about the pressing issues that their customers are facing. Then, they create articles based on the data they gathered and present their products as solution. This is a foolproof method in making sure that your articles are targeted to your chosen niche.

2. Consider some important elements when writing your articles. This is to make sure that your articles will be accepted by most publishing sites. Make sure that you don't use too many keywords or your articles will be rejected for keyword abuse. Also, make your articles at least 250 words and ensure that all links on your resource box are working. Lastly, never insert hyperlinks on the body of your articles. This is one of the common reasons why articles are rejected by publishing sites.

3. Write articles that are easy to understand. Your success in article marketing will largely depend on how well your readers can understand you. So make it a point that you make it easier for them to digest the information you are presenting. To do this, you can use various formats like questions and answer, how-tos, and numbered list when presenting your ideas.

Article Marketing For Targeted Traffic Online

Article marketing has become one of my favorite forms of traffic generation, because of the targeted nature of the traffic it produces. You see, it is not extremely important to me to get tons of traffic, if that traffic is not targeted, and does not need what I have to offer.

When I first got started online, I used article marketing to generate search engine listing, and became very quickly number one for several different keywords.

The problem with those keywords, though, was that they were low volume keywords. My guess is that if they had been high volume keywords the strategy would be almost impossible. So the bottom line is, I wasnt getting traffic from those keywords. A little, but not enough to go full time online! And I needed a full time income online.

But the craziest thing happened I started testing groups of article directories, and finding that certain groups of directories pulled much higher responses like 100 times the response of other groups. So I continued breaking them down into smaller and smaller groups until I came up with like a big three and the results are phenomenal! I am getting as much response per article as I was submitting to 100 directories so I have been able to take that free time and put it to use writing more articles. I challenge you to do the same thing I think you will find that if you are only submitting to the big three that your article marketing efforts will be much increased! That is exactly what I do and I find that the targeted nature of the traffic makes it much more responsive.

Article Marketing Or Pay Per Click - Which Is Better?

There are many ways to advertise your business online; two of the more popular ways are by article marketing and pay-per-click marketing. With article marketing you write articles and they will usually be indexed in the major search engines such as Yahoo and Google as well as picked up by owners of ezines. This is how you get traffic to your website.

With Pay Per Click, you would pay for your ad to show up above the natural search results or beside them when a user does a keyword search with the search engines. You pay the search engine company each time someone clicks on your ad; the price you pay depends on the competition for that keyword.

I believe that when you are entering a new market you should start out with article marketing. If you have to write good articles about a topic or subject, you have to do research. The research you do will help you find pay per click ad space that is empty and you will be the only one advertising in that space.

Also keep in mind that the primary reason people use search engines is to get information, a lot of people believe that the useful information is only found in the search results as opposed to the pay per click side of the page. This is a big advantage to article marketers because they are able to give the user what they are looking for first, before trying to market to them. It's a very effective way of marketing.

When starting how I say go with article marketing, once experienced you can branch out to pay per click marketing.

I wasted 17months trying to drive profitable traffic to my website, but you should not do the same. Instead click here to get a copy of my "Quality Traffic Report". In it I will show you my results after testing article marketing vs. google pay per click, you can use the results to start driving profitable traffic to your website.

Lucrative Article Marketing - 5 Easy Methods to Excel at Article Marketing

If you are looking for ways on how you can obtain increased page ranking, improved targeted traffic, higher sales potential, and increased online revenue without shelling out money, you should give article marketing a try. It's one marketing method that has earned the nods of most webmasters because of its proven traffic-generating power and cost-effectiveness.

Here are the 5 easy methods to excel at article marketing:

1. You must be driven and result-oriented. Success in article marketing doesn't come overnight. You must be driven enough to consistently write numerous articles on a regular basis so you can quickly multiply your inbound links from article submission sites. It is important that you don't give up even if you don't see noticeable results within the first couple of months of writing and submitting your articles to publishing sites.

2. You must be resourceful. You need to know where to get valuable information that can help you create compelling and content-rich articles. This can tremendously help you as you should not write articles based on your ideas and opinions alone. To make your articles believable, they must be fact-based and backed up by credible resources.

3. You must be fair. Avoid personal biases on your articles so they will not sound one-sided. Stick to the facts and avoid interpreting them or overstretching the truth so you won't mislead your readers.

4. You must know how to empathize and it must show on your articles. People need someone who understands where they are coming from and understands the things that they are going through. Learn to empathize through your content and win your readers' trust.

5. You must be meticulous. You must not allow a single error to affect the quality of your articles by proofreading them before posting them online.

Internet Marketing Plan - A Step By Step Guide To Creating Your Highly Profitable Business! Part II

We learned that you need to brainstorm to find a profitable market if you want to make a lot of money with Internet marketing. This is a crucial step, so don't try to escape. I've made this mistake when I first started and I can tell you that I lost a lot of money as a result.

Then, we learned that you need to know exactly what your market want, and finally, you need to find competitors already spending money to advertise in this market.

Now, let's go more in depth and see where you can find them. We are going to analyze the competition.

4. Analyze your competition

It's very easy to find out what your competitors are doing in your market. There are plenty of tools that allow you to find out, but for the purpose of this article, we will use Google.

You can use any other search engine like Yahoo or msn by the way.

You need to look at the paid search results, on the right side of the screen. Basically, you are going to find out how they are making money, and adjust your strategy on what they are already doing.

You need to find your unique selling proposition. To make a lot of money, you need to be different than others. Don't try to be another "me too" in this market.

5. Create a landing page

Now that you found that your product is popular and that people are already making money in the niche, it's your turn. You need to collect a list of subscribers.

Where is the product?

In fact, you don't have a product yet. You are going to create it soon.

2006 New York City Search Engine Strategies Event

The Search Engine Strategies event provided us with fodder for a series of articles to help business owners increase their market share, extend their marketing reach, and dramatically expand their geographical reach into new sources and new markets. Search engine optimization allows a company's web site to defeat time and distance to maximize the company's potential.

Why we went:

The last time we sent anyone to the Search Engine Strategies conference was in 2001 - I think. Not because we were really interested in that technical stuff, but because we thought our readers might be.

Only two of us went and found very little that seemed relevant. At the time our readers, established successful mainstream companies, were just getting serious about their Internet presence. What would we find for them? Not much.

The focus in 2001 was on the big companies with IT staffs and (relatively) unlimited resources, huge web sites and bulging budgets. We did come across a few things, the only one I remember was the session by Heather-Lloyd Martin and Jill Whalen, called "Writing For Search Engines". I was actually

interested in that session for us, not our readers.

This year, 2006, we decided to return. After all it was here in NYC and they were kind enough to provide me with press credentials. All I had to lose was cab fare and a few hours time.

Halfway through the first session I attended, hosted by Danny Sullivan the editor of SearchEngineWatch.com - I knew I had made the right decision.

In his warm-up Danny (I don't know him but you feel like you do after listening to him for a few minutes) asked the audience (probably more people attended that session - one of several at that moment, than attended the entire event in '01),

How many of you are web marketers?

How many of you are here for the first time? etc. etc.

After listening to him for 45 minutes it was clear to me that, we're all web marketers or we'd better be! Our serious competitors are and they will be taking our business right out from under our noses unless we begin to pay real attention to our search engine strategies.

Our readers, and probably too, want to grow their market share. They want to do more business with each of their customers, and they want to expand their reach (geographically). And they want to do it 24/7/365 as cost effectively as possible. How is that possible? That's what we were there to find out - and we did.

What we found:

Sessions for people like us (and our readers). Search engine optimization is not just for Internet entrepreneurs and giant companies anymore. It is for Main Street companies too.

There were three program tracks from introductory to expert. I found some very useful information in each - which I'll be describing in future articles. What I came up with were ideas and strategies our D.I.Y. (do it yourself) readers can use to maximize what they already have in place.

There were ideas that caused me to say to myself, "why didn't I think of that" and others that we'd started using but then lost interest in when there was no instant jump in our traffic. You know, those, "if I knew then what I know now" sort of things. And we learned how we and our readers can be better buyers of the services they can't or don't want to do themselves.

There's an SES event coming to a city near you:

That is not literally true - but there are several upcoming during 2006 and I met people from all over the country at the one here in NYC.

At lunch the first day (more about this in a future article) I met two guys from a family owned company in California. Their boss had attended the Search Engine Strategies event in Chicago (I think) and she told them to come to this one.

Their company is as non-Internet as any you can imagine and they were already busy making notes for what to do when they go back to the plant.

I called 3 of my colleagues and they attended just the "exhibit only" area the next two days. Time and (very little) money well spent!

This article will be posted on our web site complete with links to SES resources. There will be 6-12 additional articles described there. The articles will be posted as soon as they are written.

The bottom line:

"We are ALL web marketers or we had better be, because our competitors are!"

Our objective is to shine a light into the ways that each of you - no matter where you are in the process, can put your business (via your web site) to work more effectively - to realize your company's potential.

7 Affordable Marketing Strategies for Small Business Owners

Build it and they will come only works in the movies. If youre a small business owner, relying on people finding you will most likely end in disaster. Actively pursuing clients predicts success, but many entrepreneurs simply dont know how to do that.

Let me assure you though that marketing is easy IF you have a plan.

The best plans are written down in a notebook, or maybe theyre on your computer. Even a scrap of paper will do. But studies show when you write things down, youre more likely to succeed.

Sometimes new business owners are wary of any talk about marketing because they think marketing must be expensive. Yet can you afford not to market your company? And usually theyre thinking of advertising rather than marketing. Although many think so, the two terms are not synonymous. Advertising is merely one form of marketing.

Heres a few.

  • It all starts with image (and yes, image is part of marketing as is pretty much everything you say and do). To show the world a professional image, consider the impact of having everything that represents your company match perfectly be it business cards, brochures, and your web site to name a few.
  • The single-most affordable marketing strategy is networking and requests for referral. In fact, not only is it the most affordable, its also the most effective. A client coming to your through a referral is likely interested in your product or services 60% of the time. You simply cant beat that.
  • Direct mail is an excellent strategy for reaching your target market one-on-one. Direct mail works for both business-to-business and consumer markets. And while writing for both markets has certain aspects in common, theres also important differences when copywriting for the two.

  • If your town has bulletin boards or storefronts that allow it (most do if you look hard enough), post a notice free of charge. The only cost bulletin board notices have is your time.
  • Join your local business groups and offer to speak during their next meeting. Although public speaking is one of our most common fears, speaking to a group quickly establishes expert status.
  • Find a business that offers complementary services to yours and split the costs of your both your marketing. For example, if you own a graphic design business, join forces with a printer.
  • I cant end this discussion without mentioning web sites. There is no other way to reach as many people at the same time (except maybe advertising, but advertising on the same scale can be very expensive). The problem with web sites is putting one up is just the beginning. Marketing your site takes a lot of hard work, but its worth it.
Small business marketing doesnt need to be difficult. Nor does it need to be expensive. These 7 strategies are just the tip of the iceberg. Really, youre only limited by your imagination, and of course your budget.
