Optimizing Your Website

By far the majority of websites are there with a purpose - to sell a product or a service. Many website owners believe that a wonderfully designed website will draw searchers to it by reason of its design, but nothing could be further from the truth. I have a couple of friends who are two of South Africa's award winning designers, and they designed a website for themselves that, design wise, was faultless. But they got no visitors to their site other than those who found out the web address from a business card or letterhead. Why? The answer is simple. They used few keywords, the whole site was based on faultless graphics and Flash. The result being that there was nothing there for a search engine to look at or index. Search Engine Optimisation and the copy writing that goes with it is essential for any website.

Search engines need to look at content, and they need to see content that is relevant to the meta keywords used in the head of the site's source code. That is one of the reasons why a copy writer is an essential part of the team putting together a successful website. Copy writing for websites is a profession based on experience - experience that is gained from knowing how search engines work and what they look for. For example, if you fill a website article such as this one with a particular keyword or keyword phrase, it will be ignored by search engines, because their algorithms recognize its overuse.

Profitable Article Marketing - Discover 5 Great Ways to Make Money Through Article Marketing

It is no secret that article marketing is currently the best product and website promotional tool in the internet today. Webmasters simply love it as it continues to bring favorable results not only in terms of augmenting traffic, profits and sales leads, but also in securing better ranking on search engines.

1. Increase the chances of your articles being picked up and republished by other webmasters by making them all content-rich, informative, useful, attention-grabbing, and keyword-rich. This can potentially increase the number of inbound links for your website that can lead to increased traffic and more sales leads.

2. Create compelling titles. Your headlines are your only tools in getting people to take interest on your articles when they are shown on search page results together with other articles written by different authors. If your titles are attention-grabbing and enticing, your articles will stand better chances of being opened and read.

3. Keep your articles short. People online generally prefer articles that run 300-500 words. Why? Because they are easy on the eyes and more interesting to read compare to lengthy articles. Besides, online users usually do not have much time to spare when they are looking for information over the internet.

4. Keep your sales pitches off your content. Avoid making your articles sound like sales letters. Remember, in order to convince your readers to visit your website is to give them information that they will find useful and relevant to their needs. Reserve your sales pitches for your resource box.

5. Pick the best publishing sites. Submitting your articles online can be a tedious and time-consuming task. It would help if you can identify the article submission sites that can give your articles the exposure they need and just ignore those which do not have steady traffic or not indexed by Google.

Article Marketing - Common & Hilarious Resource Box Mistakes Made in Your Articles

In your article the resource box is where you get to invite the reader back to you web site or blog for more information. Blow this and you have wasted your time. Get this right and you have got it made!

Common & funny mistakes

I have seen resource boxes that were as long or even longer than the article! Imagine that. Somebody figured that telling you all about them and all their many accomplishments was more interesting than the article.

Now that sounds silly and ridiculous for anybody to do, but they do it! Most folks start their resource box with, "Sally Sue graduated from 27 difficult universities, has written 100 great books, and her whole family thinks she's great."

Who cares? Remember, the resource box is not about you. It's about the reader.

What you do when you start off your resource box that way is you communicate to the reader - "Attention Reader: The article is now over. You can go away now."

So they don't read your resource box, don't click on your links, and you don't get a visitor, you don't get a prospect, you don't get a subscriber, you don't get a customer or client.

Now one of the funniest mistakes I've ever seen, and I actually read someone advocating this mistake. They were having a discussion one day about where and how and when to put your name in the resource box. One person, who really does know better I think, was advocating not only putting your name first, but putting your name in bold letters because - and this is a quote - they had seen articles where they could not tell where the article ended and the resource box began.

Well, duh! This, ladies and gentlemen, is the whole point. I hope that the articles that this person was referring to were either articles by my students or my articles, because that's what I teach. The whole point is for them to flow right from the article into the resource box.

What Is Article Marketing And How I Got Started With This Business Model - Part 1

The very first Internet marketing technique I learned when I started online in early 2006 was article marketing. At first, I didn't really believe this would work and I didn't take action.

I bought a cheap ebook called secret affiliate weapon and I read the material. One of the pdfs was about article marketing and was called lazy traffic. I read and didn't take action like most of the people online. After a while, I got a coach and he taught us affiliate marketing. I was stuck because he was teaching us the exact same tactics and strategies I learned before.

Since we had daily assignments, I was forced to write those articles because one of the condition of this coaching program was to do the tasks in time. If you failed, you could be dropped from the program.

I submitted article manually for the first time to ezinearticles, goarticles, article city, article dashboard and a couple of other directories. I can tell you that I was typing and submitting like crazy. I didn't have money in my early beginning and I couldn't hire a ghostwriter or even use a submission software. I needed to do the work alone.

I forget to say that I was enrolled in the program by submitting articles. The entrance fee was $197 a pop, and although I had a burning desire to enroll in this mentoring course, I didn't have the money at the time.

Happily, there was an alternative option for marketers on a budget. All I had to was to submit forty articles with the mentor's resource box at the end. I was so happy! I wrote those 40 articles on the fly. It was my very first batch of articles, and I must admit that grammar and punctuation was bad. But I have no choice, I took action and submitted the articles.

The Truth About Article Marketing - It is Not Dead!

If you've heard rumors that article marketing is dead, those rumors couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, article marketing is alive, kicking, and thriving. There are many advantages to using article marketing, and that's why some of the most recognized and successful businesspeople still use article marketing. Here are some of the advantages of using article marketing!

Traffic -

Men and women are using article marketing right now to drive more clients to their websites. Simply by submitting your relevant article with tons of information and a great link in the bio, you are able to use your articles to increase traffic to a site. One of the best ways to do this is to have your freelance writer subtly mention your products or services, along with comparable ones or alternative ones. Another way is to explain benefits of your type of products or services. There are many different ways and you will increase traffic.

One important note to make in this section is that other people have the option in most places to reprint your article free, as long as they include your bio and the link you have there. This means there are several different ways to get traffic. When someone else reprints your article, people will be able to see it on another site that is perhaps relevant to yours, so you can get some great leads or signups that way!

Credibility -

Article marketing is one of the best ways to establish your credibility as an expert. If you have a Shea Butter site where you sell organic Shea Butter, some people might buy your product without you ever having an article. However, if you have dozens of articles on the web about Shea Butter and the benefits, what it treats, what it can be used for, how it's made, and where it comes from, people are going to consider you an expert. Most people would rather purchase from an expert than someone who doesn't know but is just selling the product. This is why article marketing is so beneficial. You keep your site clean and not too wordy but you still get your information out there. In order to be really successful with a product or service, you need credibility!

Search Engines -

Of course, article marketing is great with the search engines because when you submit your article with the proper SEO, your article has a great chance of coming back in top pages of related searches. This means another avenue for more traffic, customers, sales, signups, or leads. The key is to place the right keywords in and have it optimized right, which most freelance writers know how to do for you.

Article marketing is most definitely not dead and, in fact, it's almost a necessary thing to do when you have a site. It is one of the best ways to improve traffic, credibility and reputation, and give your site and business an amazing boost. Using the information above, you can see just why article marketing is very much alive in the internet business world today.

Article Marketing - The Poor Man's Way To Riches

Article Marketing is the poor man's way to riches. With little or no money, you can drive a lot of traffic with article marketing. By writing a keyword, rich headlines, and body articles you can gain page ranking for your website or product. With high page ranking on the search pages, you will see more traffic on your websites. The same articles will be used for content on other websites which gives you back links and more traffic.

Article Architect is a writing program that simplifies the whole article marketing. It has a keyword search engine built-in that drills down to the best niche. Based on the number of searches to the number of competing sites, there is an article subject research program called SE Snooping built-in that goes out onto the Internet for information. With that, you can write a good rich content article on any topic that will offer your readers very good information on the subject. Another tool is called Brainstorm. It creates 100 headlines for your article based on the information you supply.

The Article Architect is not an automated directory submitter. The format is setup to input all your directories with your passwords and names. Article Architect logs you in. All you do is click and point your articles to the directories submission forms. You can date the submission in the program and track the monies brought in by each article.

This article is just small. Look at a program that has saved me so much time and work. I can write a lot more rich content full articles and know that it will help my readers. If youre writing garbage filled articles to promote your business, this program is not for you. But if you take pride in your work and want to build a rock solid online business, take a look at this program.

There are other programs out there and I say compare quality, the number of tools with in the program, and the price for each one. Article Architect will beat them in every category hands down going away.

You have permission to reprint this Article in it's entirety in your newsletters or blogs. Also please feel free to pass it along to others who you think would enjoy it. Please leave all links active and working.

Bum marketing, a type of internet marketing, is gaining popularity among those who love to live in a virtual world. And it targets many people who want to be writers, even those who enjoy penning down a thought or writing diaries are some person's favorite pastime. For those who have an iota of writing skill have the opportunity to make money now, thanks to the internet. The ultimate bum marketing technique helps you to market your stuff.

You see the Internet is always flooded with plethora of information. So, it is imperative to carve a space for yourselves in the world there via article marketing. Keep in mind the following points about bum marketing.

Bum Marketing Tips

1) The ultimate bum marketing techniques are very simple; even a novice writer can make fortune. The most important aspect of the ultimate bum marketing technique is the proper use of the keywords. The keyword which you select should not have a lot of competition. It is always better to go for a niche segment; select that keyword which has minimum competition on the web. Use the keyword in your title once and in your article few times.

2) A user while looking for any information always types the keywords on the search engine. So, appropriate keywords ensure more number of viewers for your article. You can post your article to Ezinearticles.com or goarticles.com or USFreeADs.

3) Provide a link in your article's resource box so that the person reading it will visit your personal website. If you do not have a personal website, then you can send them to your blog. Thus after the reader reads your article, she or he might be tempted to follow up, visit your site and purchase your products or services sold there....of course making you all smiles.

Viral Marketing Using Free eBooks

You can also adopt the viral marketing using free ebook techniques to market your articles. The positive word of mouth technique helps you to promote your product in the real world, but when the same technique is adopted for the virtual world, the term is called viral marketing. It spreads like a virus and grows exponentially. Viral marketing using free ebooks can help you to generate traffic to your webpage or blog.

The viral marketing using free ebooks technique is simple to follow; just create an ebook and distribute it among say two or three people. Grant them the authority to give your ebooks free to whomever they want. And within no time your ebook will reach everywhere; and you did not spend a penny for it. Just make sure to create a proper link to your web-page or blogs which you want to market. The user will follow the link and may even purchase your stuff linked through it and you can make good money.

The viral marketing using free ebooks technique can boomerang if others start modifying your link and promoting their own product. Software is available in the market place that will prevent miscreants from modifying the link.

The bum marketing and viral marketing using free ebooks techniques when used intelligently will help you to make fortunes. The content that you provide should be original, and the sales copy straightforward; i.e. never try to manipulate people or things (no hype) in order to get quick money. Remember once you earn the trust of the customers, your readers, you will become a brand; you then do not follow the money but money follows you.

Article Marketing - 4 Highly Impacting Ways on How to Achieve Effective Article Marketing

The primary purpose of article marketing is to relay a message that you know will be of importance to your recipients. This is the only way that you can measure the efficiency and the success rate of your article - when you know that your article material has reached the people who need your information. It is for this reason that it is being suggested for article marketers to follow the below written guidelines to achieve an effective article marketing scheme.

1. Make sure you understand how the information that you have included on your article can be of use to your readers. When you know the answer to this, you will not then have a difficulty in understanding what sort of information that needs to be included on it. Always consider that the information that you put on it shall be used as a basis to come up with decisions.

2. Make sure that your readers have, to the least, an ample amount of understanding of what you are conveying to them. This means that whatever information that you include on your article, make sure that it is not a total stranger in the perception of the reader. Make sure that a generalized idea or concept is provided somewhere on the contents to promote an air of understand ability.

3. Consider the various types of readers that your article material may be encountering. Significantly, you have to make sure that your article material should be able to adapt with the immense cultural and intellectual differences of the readers. It is only with this that clear understanding of the article material can be achieved.

4. Proactively solicit for any feedback or suggestion that concerns the information that you have included on your article. This will make the writer more competent the next time he writes and all at the same time, it allows for diverse ideas to amalgamate that can produce far better form of information.

Basic Search Engine Optimization - Beyond The Mystery And Right To The Facts

Search engine optimization has long been the Holy Grail of Web marketing. Every website owner wants to see their sites rank well in the top engines, but exactly how to achieve this remains a mystery for most marketers.

The first thing I want to point out is this fact: The exact algorithms used by the major search engines are actually proprietary, so anyone who doesn't work for one of these companies who tells you they know exactly what it takes to put you at the top is probably lying to you.

The truth is the search engine companies don't want people like me understanding their systems and creating positive results for my clients. The people behind search engine technology believe their algorithms provide the perfect solution for a Web surfer's query.

But of course you and I know better. How many times have you tried to do a simple keyword search and ended up with page after page of irrelevant results?

Whether they like it or not, the search engines do need help from proficient designers and skilled marketers. It's up to us to add the human element that robots and software simply can't accomplish in an effort to bring searchers the best possible results.

SEO (search engine optimization) is a term with a very broad scope. There is a great deal of work and diligence involved in producing favorable search results for your website(s), but this article will take away much of the mystery that shrouds this subject and give you the basic fundamentals you'll need to create some real results.

First of all, you should know there are two aspects of search engine optimization; onsite and offsite. Onsite optimization refers to what you can do within your code to make your files more search engine friendly, and offsite refers to link building from other websites back to your web pages.

Solid onsite optimization involves the following steps:

Title and Meta Tags:

Your title tag should reflect your primary keyword phrase. This is HUGELY important.

Often when I visit a site I see the domain name in the title bar. The title tag is the first thing a search engine robot is going to take notice of, and if you blow this aspect of onsite optimization your remaining efforts will have considerably less impact.

For instance, on one of my sites I sell an e-book to online marketers about the pitfalls of business opportunity programs found on the web. The title of my e-book is Net Marketing Exposed, which is pretty cool, but do you think this would be an intelligent entry for the Title tag of my main page? Of course not. Who on earth is going to search for 'Net Marketing Exposed'?

So my title tag reads: Internet Marketing E-book | Internet Business Opportunity. My target market for the site I'm referencing consists of home-based opportunity seekers and Internet marketers so I have chosen keyword phrases that match these search terms for my Title tags.

And note you can use the pipe character ( | ) to separate multiple terms in your title tag. I recommend going with at least two phrases in your title tag, but do not use the exact same words more than three times in your title.

The debate as to whether or not search engines still reference your meta tags when spidering your site is a hot topic among SEO experts. I honestly don't know if the major engines still read the keyword tag or not, but I add this tag anyway because it only takes a couple of minutes and why not take this extra step just in case right?

Whether or not you utilize the Meta Keywords tag is up to you but I do urge you to use the Meta Description tag. We know for a fact the engines read this tag because if you have it entered in the head section of your html it is what displays under your site title in the search listings.

So the description tag serves not only to add keyword relevance for the search engine spiders, it also acts as your ad when a searcher views your listing in the search results. Adding a quality description in this field can improve the clickthrough rate your listing receives once it is found through a keyword search.

Search engine Friendly File Names:

I recommend naming your page files in a manner that reflects your relevant keyword phrases. If you have a page that lists your articles on your site name that file articles.html instead of something useless like page02.html

Of course the main page in every directory will have to be named index, but that's ok as the engines are hip to that; just be sure to put some thought into your other file names.

Header Tags and Page Content:

You should also use Header tags (H1, H2, H3, etc.) to illustrate important keyword phrases within your site. For example, the page title your visitor sees at the top of your content should be enclosed in H1 tags and should contain your primary keywords.

And obviously your main keywords need to appear several times in the content of each page. Placing these phrases close to the top of your content is recommended, and you should use underline, bold, and italic tags to add emphasis to your keywords within your content.

I have found the 'strong' tag to be of particular effectiveness. While on a visual level it serves the same purpose as the 'b' tag (creates bold text) my research suggests that search engine spiders respond better to the 'strong' tag.

Be careful not to emphasize every keyword phrase with special tags, and avoid excessive and unnatural "stuffing" of keywords onto your pages as the engines may pick this up and flag your site as search engine spam.

Image Tags:

Many designers and marketers ignore the value of proper image tagging when optimizing their templates for the engines. I can tell you right now I have seen a huge jump in ranking as a direct result of changing the structure of a site's image tags.

First of all, remember that search engine robots read text, not images. So avoid giving your image files names like 'header.jpg' or 'photo014.gif' unless you are hoping to be ranked for search terms like header and photo.

You should also be sure to use an alt tag with every image, and enter a keyword relevant phrase as your alt tag.

Going back to my e-book site as an example, my header graphic is named http://internet-business-opportunity.jpg, and has an alt tag of "Internet marketing e-book reveals the truth about Internet business opportunities." And the cover graphic for my book is named http://internet-marketing-ebook.jpg with a matching alt tag.

Onsite Link and Navigation Structure:

Finally pay attention to the anchor tags and navigation structure of your site. It's better to use keyword terms for a hyperlink text than to simply use 'click here'. I also suggest applying the Title attribute to add keyword phrases to your link tags.

Of course if you use image links refer back to the image name and alt tag rules.

And your menu should also be built around search engine friendly tags. For instance never use a 'Home Page' tag on your navigation; instead apply a relevant keyword.

If your website is about swimming lessons, the menu button for your home page should say 'Swimming Lessons' or something similar and not simply 'Home'.

This may seem like a lot to take in, but it's really a very simple formula for building search engine ready templates. Review this info until it is second nature and apply it to every site you build and you'll be on your way to stronger placement in the major engines.

The last, and the most important element of basic SEO is offsite optimization. This is a fancy term for link building.

To get the most out of your onsite optimization, you need plenty of good links pointing back to your website. And you should always strive for keyword anchored backlinks over straight URLs.

Again using my example site that retails an e-book to folks with an interest in work from home opportunities, I want hyperlink text that reads "Internet marketing e-book" or "Internet business opportunity".

A correctly built link back allows you to control what search engine spiders look for once they follow a link to your site. Once they arrive through an anchor tag that reflects your primary keywords, the spiders will proceed to look for these terms in your file tags and page content, which will of course improve your potential rankings.

This article has covered everything you need to get started with successful SEO. Master these concepts and you are certain to see a big jump in your search engine rankings!

What Is Bum-Marketing?

Bum marketing, also called article marketing is a way to promote a website for free. This is done by submitting original articles to article directories. How exactly bum-marketing works and how you can use it to increase the number of your website visitors, will be explained in this article.

Bum-Marketing

Getting targeted visitors to a website is the hardest part of internet marketing. There are numerous ways to generate traffic and each method needs to be used in a certain way. Bum marketing is a great way to get free targeted traffic to any website of your choice. This is done by submitting your own original articles to various article directories. But wait, there are certain things that you need to know about submitting articles:

1.) Find the right keywords first.

It is major important that you know what people are looking for, if there is no market for your topic then you will not make sales! Also make sure that your keywords have low competition, this way you will get more traffic from the search engines later on.

2.) Find the best affiliate programs or products that fit your keywords.

If you want to make money through bum marketing, then there are 3 ways to do this, you can sell your own products or services, you can sell products as an affiliate or you can make money through google adsense ads on your website. If you want you can even combine all 3 ways to make money.

3.) Write your article

You can not use private label rights articles, you need to write your very own original article to get listed in the article directories. You article should be between 400 and 800 words of length with a keyword density of 1.5% up to 3%. Your article needs to have a value to the reader, he or she must learn something from it. If you provide good content, then your article will be downloaded and published on other websites more likely.

4.) Create your "about the author box"

You do not have to write anything about yourself as a person in the "about the author box". You can create a unique box for each article! Make sure that your author box is related to your article content. You can write things like: "If you want more information on ... or read reviews about ... click here: ..."

5.) Check your article

It is important that you spell check your article so that it gets approved in the directories.

6.) Submit your article

You can use a semi-automated article submitter to submit your article to the article directories. Don't use a full automated submitter, you can get banned from many important websites by doing so! When submitting your articles to various directories make sure to change your title and the first 3 sentences once in a while.

7.) Saturate the market

You will not succeed in bum-marketing unless you submit a number of articles on a regular basis. A good number to start is one article a day, after a while you will be able to write 3 or more articles every day and submit them to 50 or more article directories.

As you can see this is quite a bit of work but the results will be great. Not only will you get visitors from your article signatures but also will you get better search engine rankings because of improving the number of backlinks to your website.

3. Multiply the number of your articles. One of the elements that can guarantee you success in article marketing is the quantity of your output. Remember, the more articles you submit, the more quality inbound links you will obtain for your website.

4. Outsource. If you are like most webmasters who are always swamped with other marketing activities or someone who doesn't have a knack for writing, you can still utilize this marketing tool by hiring ghostwriters or article posters. Just make sure that your ghostwriters understand your niche very well and have the ability to create articles that are targeted to the needs and demands of your potential clients.

Super Simple Ways To Optimize Your Site For Search Engines

While serious search engine optimization remains a difficult and often daunting task for your average website owner, there are many simple things you can do to optimize your site for the search engines. These simple tasks are relatively easy to perform and can be very beneficial to any search engine optimization campaign.

Page Titles

One of the most important aspects of on page optimization is to optimize all your page titles. Very few homemade websites and even those made by far more costly amateur and even professional web designers forget, or just don't know, that you should place your most important keyword phrase or two in your page title. If your #1 most important keyword is "orange cat figurines", then your page title should look something like this:

Company Name - Orange Cat Figurines

Simple as that! As long as you don't repeat one word more than several times in the title, you can place more than one phrase in the title, like this:

Company Name - Orange Cat Figurines, Feline Figurine Store

Notice we didn't repeat a single word more than once, fit in 2 important keyword phrases and also fit in the official company name? This is a good title. You can also move the company name to the end of the title to place greater importance on your phrases, like this:

Orange Cat Figurines and Feline Figurines at Company Name

All three formats make good page titles for just about any website.

Body Text

Next, we have the body text of the site. So often, you see sites that have very little or no text on their sites at all. Your main page especially, needs to have some good descriptive text that incorporates the purpose of the website and your most important keyword phrases. Flash sites, sites with splash or entrance pages and sites that are graphics heavy, too often miss this important step.

Your text should read naturally and explain what your site offers and can even include a summary of your products, services, direct links to important pages on the site and contact information.

Page File Names

The file names of each page of your site are also important and can be optimized. Here are some examples of appropriate optimization of page file names:

orange-cats.htm
orange-cat-figurine.htm
cat-figurines.htm
blackcatfigurines.htm

It's quite simple, name the pages that you have these products on with the most important keyword phrase for those products. Avoid using too many words here, just 1 short keyword phrase works best. There's still an argument as to whether the hyphenated version or the non hyphenated version is best. You can also use underscores as well. If your site is already built, you may not be able to change the filenames easily, but if you add additional pages, you can certainly use optimized file names like above.

Heading Tag

This is the very simple H1 tag that makes the text look very large on the page. When the heading tag is used in a page, the search engines tend to think that the phrase contained inside it is very important. The heading tag should be used at the top of a page to highlight one important keyword phrase that is describing the content of the page.

Alternate Image Text

While some search engines don't bother to read this text, some major ones still do. You can optimize the alternate image text to describe an image, but don't stuff it with keywords. Here are some examples of good alternate image text that incorporates keywords:

Orange Cat Figurine (to describe an orange cat figurine) Cat Store Logo (for the logo) Cat Figurine Catalog (for button linking to the main catalog page showing cat figurines)

The alternate text names of each image will also show up when you hover your mouse over an image or for people who are on low speed connections and whose images don't load or take a long time to load.

There you are, 5 very simple and easy ways to optimize your site for search engines.

Article Marketing - How To Drive Super-Qualified Visitors To Your Site!

Would you like to know how to increase your results from niche marketing with articles? This article will let you in on a little marketing secret to achieve this.

Different markets require different 'voices'. The tone for the 'make money online' market will be different from a parenting market.

Markets on making money, Internet marketing, and stock trading require a little more use of 'power words', words that incite (I hate to say it) greed. We all buy Internet marketing products because we are greedy. Let's face it, our goal with Internet marketing is to make more money.

But for a parenting market or a market like let's say stamp collecting, a softer slant would be more suitable. Same goes for your website, your sales letter, your emails. All will have different 'voices' for different markets.

If you are outsourcing articles, you might want to check whether they are 100% original by using Copyscape. There are some article 'writers' that use content spinning software to do the work, rather than writing the articles themselves. The result is that the articles are not 100% original. It is advisable to use a premium account over at Copyscape. It does make checking the articles you have received from your freelancer really simple.

So always remember this when writing articles targeted at different niches: change the tone of your articles and even your resource boxes. In fact, alter the tone of every communication setting you have with your subscribers and your customers. It's one of the secrets to generating super qualified leads and customers.

Almost Criminal Technique To Build Your List Using Free Advertising

For most people that are starting an internet business they are very limited with their advertising budget. There are free advertising sources that you can use.

I have tested these free advertising sources with varying results of success. The first one and probably the easiest is forum marketing. Based on my own personal testing I found that about fifty percent of people would remove themselves from my newsletter. The second was web 2 advertising like articles on Digg. However, I found it extremely difficult to get this traffic to actually convert. The only method that I found to convert leads into customers consistently was article marketing.

I promote my internet business using the following method of article marketing.

Choose a niche market to focus the articles that you are writing for. Create an attention grabbing headline first. Write the introduction and conclusion next. Brain storm ideas for the body encapsulating each idea in a bullet point. It is very important that you share a slice of your expertise. Make sure that you help your reader. If you do this correctly then they will want to subscribe to your newsletter and learn more.

In the resource box you can offer a free report for download from your squeeze page. When your reader actually clicks on the resource box they will go to your squeeze page. You need to ensure that the squeeze page submits the name and email details to your autoresponder. I suggest that you use a professional service like Getresponse.

Finally, you will have a series of opt in emails that will follow up with your prospects, build a relationship and sell them products.

Best Article Marketing - Revealed - 3 Comprehensive Ways to Excel At Article Marketing

When some webmasters say that not all traffic-generating techniques are created equal, they were not lying. While some techniques can help you augment the traffic to your site, there are others that are proven to be more efficient. Among these techniques is article marketing. It's considered one of the best because it provides online users with information, which is the hottest commodity today. Thus, it follows that if you were able to master the ins and outs of article marketing, you have won half the battle in driving traffic to your site to earn more profit.

Here are the 3 comprehensive ways to excel in article marketing:

a. Create a compelling summary. Aside from writing interesting titles, you must also create equally interesting summaries of your articles. These summaries are posted by article submission sites to give your readers an idea on what the articles are all about. Some article submission sites, like ezinearticles.com allow you to create a maximum of 5 sentences for your summary. Make each word count and use each word to entice online users to read your article.

b. Use the same name on all article submission sites. Remember, one of the reasons why you are utilizing article marketing is to establish your expertise on your field. It would help for easy recall if you will use the same name like Kelly Anderson on all article submission sites, instead of using K. Anderson on some sites.

c. Use keywords on your articles. Keep search engine optimization in mind when you are writing your articles. Remember, you must write not only for your potential clients but for search engines as well. Make use of keywords that are relevant to your topic and those that are commonly used by your target audience.

Powerful Article Marketing - 5 Simple Rules to Effective Article Marketing

Article writing, as your main tool in marketing your business is a very effective in terms of cost and yielded results. There are numerous ways on how you can market your online business, but article marketing is substantially and essentially a lot more efficient. Below are the five simple rules to attain better efficiency and effectiveness in article marketing:

1. Re-assess the methods used in titling your article material. The title of the article material says a lot about your style in writing and the actual article material itself. In addition, the headlines - meaning your titles -- which you put on it serve as the forefront towards attracting and enticing people to open and read your articles.

2. Always make an improvement on the quality of your article content. In article writing, what you write best today will no longer look the best tomorrow. This means that every moment that you write new articles, you have to make it a point that you always come up with something new and innovative.

3. To be more effective in article marketing, you need to make yourself more exposed as the article writer. People who get to read good materials tend to look first on the author that gave them what they exactly need. This means that if you submit more and more bearing good quality, people will get to remember you easily.

4. Use relevant keywords on your article material. Even when you think that you have the best quality of article content, when these do not have essential keywords on it, tendency is that it becomes so hard to be searched, thus making it substantially unopened and unread.

5. Check on how progressive your articles are. This is one the best ways to know what works best for you. You can proactively combat any potential failure in your materials when you know how people perceive your work.

Discover How To Use Article Marketing To Promote Your Business

Article marketing is one of the easiest forms of website promotion. Simply by writing articles that focus on aspects of your website's theme and submitting them to top article directories, you will begin to see an increase in website traffic. If you are not a confident writer, then you can easily and affordably outsource writing projects.

Well written articles can bring you free website traffic from a huge increase in back links. The key to your success with article marketing is twofold. Firstly, your articles need to be well written, informative and relevant to your website. Secondly, you need to write and submit articles to high traffic websites regularly. Article marketing won't work as a website promotion strategy if you are simply doing it occasionally, you have to work to a regular writing and submission routine so that the number of back links increase over time.

These back links are important for website promotion in two different ways. They are a link from the article to your site that interested readers of your article can follow and thus, they are a means for highly targeted traffic to reach your site. Additionally, they serve an important SEO (search engine optimization) service because the search engine algorithms use the number of relevant, one way back links to your website as an important factor in assigning your position on free search results pages.

Article marketing works as a website promotion technique because other websites and ezines can locate your articles in article directories and publish your articles with a link to your website in the resource bio. Most websites do not allow you to include embedded links in your article but do allow you to place links and marketing style information in your resource box that appears beneath the article.

Your resource bio info can attract free website traffic by highlighting your expertise and anything you are particularly marketing with a link to relevant pages. People who wish to use your article on their website or in their ezine must agree to keep your resource information intact.

You can choose to write an informative article about some aspect of your business that a reader may be interested in, alternatively you can write a product review designed to encourage your reader to take the next step and buy (or at least consider buying) the product. Many internet entrepreneurs use article marketing to direct people to their website to offer them a free ebook or subscription to a newsletter so that they can build an opt-in email list for ongoing marketing purposes. Article marketing is one of the best ways to pre-sell a product because it allows you to gain enough credibility with your reader that they are more inclined to click on your resource box link to discover more.

Article marketing is a very effective strategy to attract free traffic to your website. You may have an excellent product and a great sales-pitch, but without targeted website traffic your business will be dead in the water. However, if you are committed to writing at least one article a day and submit those articles to high traffic article directories as well as directories that have high search engine ranks, you will soon find that more than enough visitors are knocking on your online door.

2006 New York City Search Engine Strategies Event

The Search Engine Strategies event provided us with fodder for a series of articles to help business owners increase their market share, extend their marketing reach, and dramatically expand their geographical reach into new sources and new markets. Search engine optimization allows a company's web site to defeat time and distance to maximize the company's potential.

Why we went:

The last time we sent anyone to the Search Engine Strategies conference was in 2001 - I think. Not because we were really interested in that technical stuff, but because we thought our readers might be.

Only two of us went and found very little that seemed relevant. At the time our readers, established successful mainstream companies, were just getting serious about their Internet presence. What would we find for them? Not much.

The focus in 2001 was on the big companies with IT staffs and (relatively) unlimited resources, huge web sites and bulging budgets. We did come across a few things, the only one I remember was the session by Heather-Lloyd Martin and Jill Whalen, called "Writing For Search Engines". I was actually

interested in that session for us, not our readers.

This year, 2006, we decided to return. After all it was here in NYC and they were kind enough to provide me with press credentials. All I had to lose was cab fare and a few hours time.

Halfway through the first session I attended, hosted by Danny Sullivan the editor of SearchEngineWatch.com - I knew I had made the right decision.

In his warm-up Danny (I don't know him but you feel like you do after listening to him for a few minutes) asked the audience (probably more people attended that session - one of several at that moment, than attended the entire event in '01),

How many of you are web marketers?

How many of you are here for the first time? etc. etc.

After listening to him for 45 minutes it was clear to me that, we're all web marketers or we'd better be! Our serious competitors are and they will be taking our business right out from under our noses unless we begin to pay real attention to our search engine strategies.

Our readers, and probably too, want to grow their market share. They want to do more business with each of their customers, and they want to expand their reach (geographically). And they want to do it 24/7/365 as cost effectively as possible. How is that possible? That's what we were there to find out - and we did.

What we found:

Sessions for people like us (and our readers). Search engine optimization is not just for Internet entrepreneurs and giant companies anymore. It is for Main Street companies too.

There were three program tracks from introductory to expert. I found some very useful information in each - which I'll be describing in future articles. What I came up with were ideas and strategies our D.I.Y. (do it yourself) readers can use to maximize what they already have in place.

There were ideas that caused me to say to myself, "why didn't I think of that" and others that we'd started using but then lost interest in when there was no instant jump in our traffic. You know, those, "if I knew then what I know now" sort of things. And we learned how we and our readers can be better buyers of the services they can't or don't want to do themselves.

There's an SES event coming to a city near you:

That is not literally true - but there are several upcoming during 2006 and I met people from all over the country at the one here in NYC.

At lunch the first day (more about this in a future article) I met two guys from a family owned company in California. Their boss had attended the Search Engine Strategies event in Chicago (I think) and she told them to come to this one.

Their company is as non-Internet as any you can imagine and they were already busy making notes for what to do when they go back to the plant.

I called 3 of my colleagues and they attended just the "exhibit only" area the next two days. Time and (very little) money well spent!

This article will be posted on our web site complete with links to SES resources. There will be 6-12 additional articles described there. The articles will be posted as soon as they are written.

The bottom line:

"We are ALL web marketers or we had better be, because our competitors are!"

Our objective is to shine a light into the ways that each of you - no matter where you are in the process, can put your business (via your web site) to work more effectively - to realize your company's potential.
